I The Magician
This card has its energies related to the planet Mercury
The Magician card carries the message that your talents and your own gifts are the keys to your success in any questioned situation. It is as if you have all the tools you need right in front of you to ensure that potential success manifests.
It is a card that is directly linked to instinct and intuition. When you are feeling an impulse or a strong urge to do something and The Magician appears in your reading, follow that intuition and things can happen.
It can also indicate a dominating person or that the situation must be resolved with intelligence, practicality and rationality, in addition to announcing the beginning of a loving relationship, but which may contain traces of impulsiveness.
A little more about the card The Magician...
In the Magician’s card, we see a man wearing a cloak and a set of tools on his desk. The card number is 1 (one), a number of starts. In his right hand, he holds a stick raised towards the sky and his left hand points towards the earth. It is as if he took the higher power and channeled it through his own manifestation, directing it to the physical plane. Your destiny and the “magic” you will create to achieve it are directly linked to the law of action and reaction.
Your magic table contains all four Tarot suits, each of which represents one of the four primordial elements in alchemy: Fire, Earth, Air and Water, which respectively symbolize the proper use of spirit, body, mind, and soul in the process of manifesting consciousness.
The card has light colors and its luminous setting represents a sharp and clear view of the situation at hand. His robe is white and has to do with purity, but his cape is red, a color that represents experience and the mundane aspect. Such a duality is repeated in other elements of the card. We can also see a pentagram (a symbolism linked to the suit of Pentacles and the Earth element), a wand (Wands/Fire), a sword (Swords/Air) and a cup (Cups/Water). The Magician is raising his wand, about to perform some magic. Above his head, we see the symbol of infinity, eternity and around his waist, a snake bites its own tail (another symbol of eternity and a fresh start, the Ourobouros).
In short, this Arcanum brings an optimistic view to the situation queried, indicating that it can yield good results and that you have the possibility to control the outcome of things. It shows that you have all the resources at your disposal and can raise your wand and guide your own destiny. The card is associated with the planet Mercury and brings skill, logic and intellect to the situation in question.
